Welcome to the Paarl Hearing Centre. Our main practice was established in February 2015. We are proudly part of the Phonak Network, which enables us to bring to you the world’s leading brand in hearing technology, including but not limited to, Hansaton, Oticon, Signia (Siemens), Widex, Starkey and Unitron. We can also assist with other well-known brands.
We have expanded and for your convenience, we have offices in Paarl CBD, Val de Vie and in Wellington. In Paarl we are conveniently situated behind the Game Centre, next to the Medicross in 20 Verster Street. If you are from or nearer to Val de Vie, we can assist you at Room 302, Block B at the Polo Village Offices, across from the Deli. In Wellington we are proudly forming part of FamCare, Wellington’s first therapy centre on the corner of Millner and Murray streets, next to Kinderland playschool.
At our practices, we do not believe in simply trying to ‘sell’ you a hearing product. Rather, we believe in creating a personalised solution for each of our clients, in order for them to get back to enjoying life and loving their ears again!

More about the Audiologists
Liesel van der Merwe
Liesel is a qualified and registered Audiologist and Speech-Language Therapist. She obtained her B.Communication Pathology degree at the University of Pretoria in 2004.
In 2005 she completed her community service as an Audiologist and a Speech-Language Therapist, in the Lejweleputswa District Clinics. In 2006 she relocated to Johannesburg where she worked as a Speech-Language Therapist at an ELSEN School (learners with special education needs). In December 2006, she began at the Ear Institute, George Branch, where she acted as the Branch Manager for most of her tenure there. In January 2015 she relocated with her family to beautiful Paarl in the Western Cape, where she opened Paarl Hearing Centre as a Phonak Partner.

Anika Velloen
Anika is a qualified and registered Audiologist. She obtained her Bachelor of Science degree in Audiology at the University of Cape Town in 2018.
In 2019 she completed her community service year as Audiologist at Themba Regional Hospital in White River, Mpumalanga Province. After a very insightful year of community service working in a rural community she moved back to her hometown in Durbanville, Cape Town. She started working at Paarl Hearing Centre in January 2020. She has a special interest in new technology and wishes to help people regain their sense of hearing- so they can be able to hear and communicate to the best of their ability.
In 2019 she completed her community service year as Audiologist at Themba Regional Hospital in White River, Mpumalanga Province.
